AOD-9604 is a modified C-terminal fragment of human growth hormone (hGH 177–191) with a tyrosine added at the N-terminus, and an internal disulfide bond. Unlike full-length growth hormone, it is reported not to bind the growth hormone receptor.
That makes it a comparison tool in receptor-binding studies and in cultured adipocyte cell-line assays.
