Ipamorelin is a synthetic pentapeptide containing the non-natural residues aminoisobutyric acid (Aib) and D-2-naphthylalanine, with a C-terminal amide. It binds the growth hormone secretagogue receptor (GHS-R1a).

It is used in vitro in GHS-R1a receptor selectivity profiling and in downstream cAMP and calcium signaling assays in cell-based systems.
