BPC-157 is a linear pentadecapeptide based on a partial sequence of a protein first described in gastric juice. It is notably stable in acidic conditions compared with most short peptides.
In published cell-culture work it has been examined in endothelial tube-formation assays, fibroblast migration (scratch) assays, and FAK–paxillin and VEGFR2 signaling readouts.
