Semax (Met-Glu-His-Phe-Pro-Gly-Pro) is a synthetic heptapeptide: the ACTH(4-7) sequence extended at the C-terminus with Pro-Gly-Pro, which slows enzymatic degradation.

It is used in vitro in neurotrophic factor (BDNF) expression assays in neuronal cell lines, neuropeptide receptor binding profiling and peptide-stability studies.
