CJC-1295 is based on the first 29 residues of growth hormone-releasing hormone, with four amino acid substitutions that resist enzymatic cleavage. The DAC version adds a C-terminal lysine with a maleimidopropionyl group, which forms a covalent bond with albumin.
In the laboratory it is used in GHRH receptor binding and cAMP assays, and in albumin-conjugation chemistry studies.
